The High Kingdom of Warre also known as Warre , The Imperial Kingdom of Warre or The Warreic Archipelago is a sovereign state in The East Pacific. (Also referred to by locals as War're, Ware, or Warr.) It is an archipelago nation in the north-western region of the East Pacific, located (Something) miles southwest of Elafos, (something) miles south of Atheneus (Something) miles south-southwest of the Jenera Islands,(something) miles north west and west of Vekaiyu, and north and north west of Bai Lung Dalu. It also, as of the month of October, 2009 has included the territory of the former sovereign state, Dveria, as it's territory as well.

Throughout the 20th Century, Warre has been well known by it's neighbors for it's martial spirit, and it's focus on maritime trade. In the 1980s and 1990s Warre suffered through a period of heavy strife and civil war between the various heirs to the nation's throne, and the clans and personal armies that supported them. These time is referred to in many Warreic histories poetically as 'The Time of the Shattered Stars'. In the two years since the coronation of the last Warreic King, Warren Keith McCue the 2nd, the nation has stabilized very quickly, and has taken a strong stance against instability within the other territories which constitute the Northwest East Pacific. From the months of June 2009 to October 2009, communications with the 'Warreic Mainland' were disrupted, and the entire archipelago was engulfed in mist. In the time following this, the entire governmental structure of the nation has changed, much of it's geography has, and indeed quite a bit of it's population has.

It is well known that the Warreicans prefer the word 'Warreic' or 'Warreican' to refer to themselves or their national character. Warrese is considered somewhat derogatory and offensive, particularly with the history of the nation and it's problems during World War 2 with Japan, and in the two decades there after with the former Japanese Colonies, Umikaze, Urakaze, Jouki, and Yun.

[edit] Early History

Warre was born of, strangely enough, a warrior. The people whom would eventually colonize Warre would not have hit it's shores, had it not been for an Irish-Born 'Sea-Wolf' for the British Crown, whom had at that time been marked to be hunted, himself. That man, Captain Charles Keith McCue, and his ship (The Lumina)'s crew happened upon an fleet of sailing ships of many shapes and varieties, all headed towards the Eastern Pacific, for opportunities they were told of, vast stretches of land untouched by other men and women.

The fleet had continued well into the East Pacific, when it would be hit by what many could consider a strange happen stance. French and Spanish Pirates, a fleet of nearly six ships. Charles, a man who had long been logical and stern in his use of compassion, allowing compassion only in the most specific of times, felt something change. That Captain urged his ship into assailing the incoming fleet, and helping the ships so determined to find new homes, to fight as well.

The Spanish and French Wolves expected to find sheep, but they found a wolf and a pack of hounds. The opposing fleet was sent into retreat, but not before several ships, including Lumina, had been hurt. The fleet rode the waves to the Northeast, and after passing a large island or two, they happened upon an island with a bay shaped like an L, which had deep waters, and a stony shore on one end.

The fleet copulated on itself there, the weakened ships unloading their cargos, valuables, and people at that time, and the other ships sending forth people to go with the others, so they could search for food, and materials to build a town with, aside from the ships which they cannibalized for the wood and copper in them.

As the exploration of this beautiful island continued, with some setting up farms, Captain Charles fell in love with the beauty of the place, and upon his explorations, found a stone facing that to him looked to say 'Warre', and so the nation was named, as he told those who had settled there with him.

Warre, pronounced 'Warr-rei' or 'Warr-reh' grew in time, the island was declared, and the islands around it, apart of the 'Warre chain'. In a period of no less than ten years, small towns littered the islands, with Lumina (the name of the primary settlement of the original settling group, on Warre itself) being the largest, already grown into a small town, under the guidance of it's 'lord Mayor', Charles Keith McCue. In time, the country rebuffed several offensives, and became a country, instead of a collection of settlements on close islands. For combined defense of the chains, an assembly came together, issuing a constitution declaring Warre a confederation, with a roving, council governed but singular commanded military group formed, a group which was referred to simply as 'Rangers', as they ranged from the islands, and the islands north of the Modern day chain, for that matter, and their talents mixed that of traditional armies, hunters, marines, and sailors.

In the years that passed, the confederation argued over several points, and the small personal armies of several 'Lord Mayors' of the settlements and islands on the Warre chain grew boisterously all the time. The confederation, which came closer and closer to breaking up every day, faced an unlikely savior. The aged, well marched and veteran, Charles Keith McCue. He, with his rangers, struck against the personal armies of the Lord Mayors, making them break to pieces with tactics of a real military. Before any action could be taken in 'reparation', towards him, the Captain struck against the council itself, claiming it's meeting place [In Lumina] as his own, and arresting every Lord Mayor, before declaring himself the first King of Warre.

Some of the Mayors and Petty Lords were spared, those who agreed to this new set up, but those who did not were given the revolutionary's kiss. Executed, they fertilized the soil for coming generations.

[OOC; Despite the clearly slightly vile actions of Charles in his later years, he is painted a hero, and anyone who does not see him as a national hero, a grand patriot, etc, is typically shunned by the populace. In addition, the 'origin' of the people of Warre, is never bothered to be looked for, as modern day Warre has many varied surnames about it's populace, and saying it was originally settled by another nation would make it a 'child state', of that nation, something it does not wish to ever admit to be. Likewise, the lack of 'ancestral origin' throughout the nation makes it less likely racism will go about, at least in the eyes of Warre's government, and more likely the Warreic (As a race) will view themselves as culturally and genetically one race.]]

[edit] Warreic, Warrese, or Warreican?

It is well known that the Warreicans prefer the word 'Warreic' or 'Warrican' to refer to themselves or their national character. Warrese is considered somewhat derogatory and offensive, particularly with the history of the nation and it's problems during World War 2 with Japan, and in the two decades there after with the former Japanese Colonies, Umikaze, Urakaze, Jouki, and Yun. The Warreic Government refers to the population in all documents as Warreic, though in many local level government or charity organizations, Warrican is acceptable as well.

[edit] Geography & Terrain

Because of heavy rainfalls, and it's highly fertile soil, most of Warre is green. The big islands, Warre and Umikaze, both have fair amounts of inward height, the Warreic Highlands in both regions being known as very beautiful from the sights of sky, sea, and land visible there. Most Warreic beaches are sandy, though this sand has a slight orange tint to it. Likewise, large orange-brown rocks can be found on the few rocky bays and beaches that exist within the country. Many of the islands in the country have deep bays, the most notable among them, 'Hammer Bay' on Warre, with Lumina at the mouth. Farmlands, small forests of both the temperate variety, and the tropical (in the south) variety exist, and as is true of most islands, the majority of the islands in Warre grow steeper the further inland you get.

[edit] Warreic Culture and the Warreic Military

As narrator, I'm obligated to explain a few things to you about Warreic Culture, history, and law, before we got further. The primary statement you must know, is that Warre, being built from the same genetic blocks of the celts, and several other nations, including the Japanese, has a culture that has long held the 'clan' tradition. A person holds their family, their clan, and then their nation, in that level of importance, in most regards, in most cases.

Despite this being the actual thought process, and culturally adhered to and promoted thought process [even to the point there is a bit of bias against those outside of your clan group, if their clan or family is not 'allied' with your's], Warreic culture promotes the opposite, of sorts. Clans, themselves, are held as partially illegal within the Kingdom, and armed clans are highly illegal, every member of the clan is legally subject to immediate imprisonment or execution if their clan is seen as 'armed' beyond a simple state sanctioned militia for their county.

The Warreic Political structure, because of this, has a good deal of 'parties' which are actually clans of aligned political views, and at times, singular members of a party might have a voting base which is indeed apart of a 'clan', most of whom see the politician as their supreme commander.

Because of this, the Warreic Central government has long held a 'separate' military organization, meant to balance out the clans and unify the government's forces, so if there was a civil war, the main army of the government could intervene. This is a reason why the Warreic Military compromises so much of the population even in peace time, the country maintaining roughly 7% of it's population as 'active duty' forces within the Warreic military.

The Warreic Military -which is the official term for all of it's particular squadrons, battalions, and units, regardless of traditional military classification- answers solely to the King. This is because House McCue has traditionally held no Clan, though individual members might have a clan backing them. The Warreic tradition might be frowned upon by many other nations, but Warre, a nation both caring and proud of it's traditions, shows little signs of changing, an unofficial calculation by the government pegging 50% of the Warreic population showing some military training, with 35% considered as 'basic class' military candidates.

Most within the Clan's militias, for fear of being caught, have 'front jobs', which was true of the ninja of old Japan, and which is why the economy of Warre thrives, despite it's problematic situations, it's military tradition in schools (Military arts are taught in all but the most elusive private schools, and seen as patriotic, so much so that even those who might be physically disabled at least take 'strategic planning' classes.)

That said, though officially the Government remarks the Seven stars (and three red stars) as having relevance to the 'Provinces and Territories' of the Warreic Kingdom, they actually represent the Kingdom's military structure, as the Orange and White star represents House McCue, with each of the six other stars representing the traditional 'grand houses' (the only legal term to refer to the larger clans with), with the three red stars representing the Warreic Air Force, Marines, and Navy, which keep the land in peace.

[edit] Economy

As anyone who was to look at a map of our pristine region could tell, The Imperial Kingdom of Warre is a nation that is an archipelago, it has always practiced maritime activities.

In fact, if one hears the words 'Warre' or 'Warreic', in the Eastern Pacific, the most likely it's maritime industries. Fishing ships bearing the 'Blue, Orange, Red, and White' or the 'Seven Double Three', range throughout the East Pacific, though the majority of said ships stay to the North and North Western waters of the region, particularly those waters to the west of Warre herself. Cargo shipping, for both itself and other nations, is something Warre is also known for, several dozen 'major corporations' of said definition all exist within the Eastern Pacific. Ship building is also a large industry within the country, as well.

Because of the long maritime tradition within Warre, many ships which go through the East Pacific hire Warreic Sailors, or in some cases, if fearful of piracy, Warreic Merchant Marines, the term The Kingdom gives those who are citizens of it's nation but whom make their living as mercenary marines.

Warre's economy relies not only on the sea, however, and on both the Island of Warre, and the Island of Umikaze, there are several cities with a fair amount of manufacturing, which the government severely restricts to be 'clean', ecologically. Warreic industries produce, primarily, firearms and firearm deterrents, and electronics, particularly security systems.

On the larger of the islands, and some of the rural small islands, there is a good deal of agriculture which goes about, with the government keeping a small overview of this industry and keeping things safe as can be, but not restricting people on what they grow, per say, so long as they utilize crop rotation at times. Warre, itself, has a high agricultural output per acre spent on agriculture, and this is relegated primarily to the highly fertile soil upon it and those islands closely neighboring it.

The most remarkable thing about Warre's economy is the low unemployment rate, the King himself insisting on strict rules to keep the unemployment rate down and restrictions on employers for wrongful termination and for things such as 'bait-and-switch' employment tactics.

[edit] Unique Species

Though many normal species of animals which would be common in such a climate live on Warre, it is well known for two species in particular. These three species are not unknown throughout the rest of the East Pacific, but are well known within Warre, and in the case of Fruit Bowl Monkeys, in the Jenera Islands, to the north of Warre, it is also common.

[edit] Warreic Canines

Warreic Canines, as they are happily called, of 'seawolves', by others, are a cousin species of most other canine species, and also of foxes. There are four breeds of Warreic Canines that have been noted, but all breeds range in size from what a great dane might be to what a small red fox might be. Most of them have short haired fur, and have lithe bodies. They are known differently from other species of dogs because during summer, Warreic Canines do not have fur. In the summer, they shed their fur, revealing the sole difference between them and normal dogs, though, thick skin which ranges from jet black to light blue, but most of which is reminiscent of a bottle-nose dolphin's skin color. Their snouts have also been remarked on as being reminiscent of such creatures. Likewise, traits of both creatures are shown in Warreic Canines, as they are fairly intelligent, and friendly towards humans. Likewise, they are known throughout the Warreic Islands for saving people from drowning, and for their affection towards maritime professionals. They're called in popular Warreic culture, the 'Sailor's Best Friend', and many ship's crew have at least one of these creatures on board.

[edit] Fruit Bowl Monkeys

Fruit Bowl Monkeys, a creature which fits very well in the kitchen bio-sphere of The East Pacific, were first discovered in the Jenera Islands and Warreic Islands some centuries ago, amongst a circle of large, carved, fruit bowls. Fruit seemed to grow into these fruit bowls, and the fruit monkeys were very happy to share them, even if their 'sharing' is hurling them at people. Believed to be distant relatives of the 'Closet Monkey' species, the Fruit Bowl Monkeys are known to tend their fruit bowls, and keep food growing in them, and are all seen as very cute, what with their size as barely more than that of an average cappuchian monkey.
