"The Glorious and United Kingdom of The Floor Kippers is a massive, devout nation, ruled by Sir Nigel Griffin with an even hand, notable for its devotion to social welfare and multi-species society. Its compassionate, intelligent population are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality.
The government successfully juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Social Welfare, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Bel-Gium.
The nation has an international reputation for compassion, official forms now have the gender options Male/Female/Genderqueer/Unspecified/Other, the study of medicine is popular throughout The Floor Kippers, people reciting Shakespeare have become a common sight, public footpaths are being slowly eroded by the burgeoning number of ramblers, scientists recently cloned the long-extinct feather-bellied Dragon, the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting, the government is spending millions on renovating the public transportation system. Crime, especially youth related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The national animal is the Dragon, which resides freely in the nation's mountainous regions."

History of The World and The Floor Kippers
Current Year 2033
? - 10,233 B.C. - The area that is now known as The Glorious and United Kingdom of the Floor Kippers was ruled by the Dragons and their two gods for thousands of years and between 13,679 B.C. and 10,233 B.C. was the hub of the Dragon Empire until two factions formed during a disagreement over the treatment of the Draco Sapiens and other non-Dragon sentient species. One of the gods, Androzani, said that they should be treated as equals, the second, the goddess, Gallifrey, said that it was a Dragon's right to rule over the lesser species harshly. A war broke out and both gods vanished, along with many of the Elder Dragons and all those who were members of "The Cult of Gallifrey". Dragons continued to vanish mysteriously when they reached a certain age until 1566. However this vanishing has been put down to an outbreak of the "Elder Virus".
? - 5 A.D - The Mountain People settle and live in the mountains. It is not known how long for or if they came from anywhere else.
5 A.D. - Three explorers travel down from the Bearing Mountains to the plains of the River Bel in search of new homes after a terrible avalanche. On this trip on one of the meanders they decided to settle and sent word for the rest of the mountain people to come and join them, and thus the Capital city of Bel-Gium was born, Bel being the name of the river and Gium meaning town built in the meander of a river. The explorers went down in history as "The Daring three".
605 - Through an innocent misunderstanding the First Great Dragon war starts between the humans and Dragons.
953 - The Last Great Dragon War ends, the remaining Dragons retreat to the Bearing Mountains.
25th September 1023 - Sir Nigel Griffin is born in, the then small, hamlet of Upper Darrowby.
1200 - The Kingdom of The Floor Kippers became the world leader in ship building, building the fastest largest and safest ships ever to sail the seas. This prowess culminated in a sea battle with the Navy of The Disputed Territories of Incendiox Calx.
1600- 1605 - The "Blood Wars" take place in response to the Massacre of Paris, caused by the Vampires.
1650 - Scandinavia colonised by the French and The Floor Kippers, French name their part, "New France".
1799 - Fort Atlantis is built on the island of Mevagissy to prevent from attacks from the newly independent "New France".
1801 - An accompanying village is built for the fort and is nicknamed Atlantis
15th June 1875 - The countries of Eurasia e.g.Kiev, Russia etc, form The Trans-Siberian Alliance
6th May 1899 - The rest of Europe unifies as the European Conglomerate including New France. Floor Kippers not invited. The Swiss don't join.
8th July 1900 - An agreement between King George the twentieth and Sir Thomas Windsor, the then prime minister results in the royal family handing power over to the government. The sister countries of Bearing and Stepforth willfully unite with the Kingdom of The Floor Kippers and make The Glorious and United Kingdom of The Floor Kippers.
12th August 1900 - The continents of North and South America gain independence and form the Trans-Continental American Alliance.
6th May 1901 - The "Non-Human Sapients Immigration Act" and corresponding "Non-Human Sapients Rights Act" throws open the borders to Non-Humans in light of the appalling conditions for Non-Humans abroad discovered by delegates, investigators and backpackers.
1st January 1902 - The countries of Australasia join to form The Australasian Realms
1911 - First World War begins, started by the Swiss.
11th January 1913 - Germany pulls out of the war after the government and monarchy are overthrown in the "Moonlight Revolution", an uprising of Lycanthropes against their oppressors, to this day Germany remains a Lycanthrope majority nation.
10th October 1915 - First World War ends, Switzerland joins the EC.
12th January 1942 - The First Great Chinese Revolution, the People of China Revolt for no adequately explained reason against the Imperial Family of China. All Chinese Dragons are slaughtered as they are seen as a symbol of the Imperial Famliy. The Imperial Family flee to the TCAA.
11th September 1943 - World War Two declared between the Axis (Incendiox Calx, The Trans-Siberian Alliance, The Australasian Realms) and the Allies (The European Conglomerate and the GUK-FK).
8th July 1945 - The Trans-Continental American Alliance enters the war at "The Battle for Fort Atlantis", on the side of the GUK-FK and The EC.
11th January 1949 - World War Two ends
12th January 1949 - The International Alliance of Nations (IAN) is formed
1949 - 1955 - Major changes to the country with The National Healthcare System and The National Railway Company set up and major improvements to Service Pensions and National Insurance.
17th August 1950 - The IAN Forms the Earth Defense Force (EDF).
19th December 1951 - The EDF Receives its baptism of fire in Japan.
12th August 1959 - (Sir) Philip Briggs elected prime minister and becomes the first Non-Human prime minister of The United Kingdom of The Floor Kippers being of the species Varanus gekkonidae Sapien.
3rd June 1961 - Sir Phillip receives Knighthood after preventing World War Three.
12th December 1980 - A Charged Vacuum Emboitment (CVE) is discovered and used to discover the Multiverse and Multiverse travel officially for the first time.
12th January 1981 - After Spending 39 years secretly gathering support in China the Imperial Family overthrow the communist government and reinstate themselves into the position if power they Had 39 years earlier. Statues to the memory to the lost species of the Chinese Dragon are erected across the country.
1st January 1999 - The GUK-FK Space Team launched a satellite into the orbit of the Moon inaugurating the new satellite channel "Moon TV" broadcasting none stop footage from the moon. The Space Team was investigated for wasting government money, shut down and their duties transferred to the Ministry of Scientific Development.
3rd July 2007 - The Ministry of Inter-Species Relations burns down under strange circumstances.
24th September 2010 - Last contact with the TransContinental American Alliance, level ten quarantine placed on the continent by automated message.
18th May 2020 - The then current Duke of Tennantsea, George the Twenty-First, Queen Aldred the First's husband, dies when his plane plummets into the sea twenty-five miles from the island of Mevagissy
19th March 2026 - The Democratic Liberals become the ruling party by a landslide vote, with Sir Nigel Griffin becoming prime minister
15th March 2028 - The GUK-FK joins the World Anti-Slavery Organization (WASO) and pledges military support to The Repredirect NeoDemocracy of Denecaep should the occasion arise. Such an occasion did arise when The Corporate Nexus of Brewdomia declared war on Denecaep, however no fighting came of the occasion.
25th March 2029 - The GUK-FK declared war on The Republic of Grand Atia in aid of The Most Serene Republic of The Quendi, dispatching the navy, the air force and the army. There were losses including The HMS Survival which went down with all hands.
19th April 2029 - First direct contact with The Holy Divisional Technocracy of New Amerik over the "Sally Smith Incident".
21st March 2030 - The prime minister and the Royal family commend The Commonwealth of The Land of Lamington for opening its boarders to Non-Humans.
30th June 2030 - Sir Phillip Briggs passes away in Bel-Gium City Hospital, The nation mourns his loss.
8th July 2030 - The Government celebrates 130 years of democracy.
2030 September - The GUK-FK enters the war against the Hive Fleet in the home Universe of The Holy Divisional Technocracy of New Amerik.
1st December 2030 - Sir Nigel Griffin discovers that the circus known as "The Greatest Show in the Multiverse" is actually a front for a group of emotion draining Multiversal creatures, wanted for several crimes in seventeen Universes. Shortly afterwards Sir Nigel destroys them all. An amateur photographer photographed Sir Nigel walking calmly away from the exploding circus.
10th December 2030 - The Imperial Families of Japan and China unite with the wedding of Empress Hsieh of China and Emperor Ikeda of Japan. Meanwhile in the TCAA.......
11th April 3031 - Construction on Bio-Dome 1 is completed for International Moonbase 1, construction starts on Habitation Area 1

The Multiverse
CVEs
Charged Vacuum Emboitments (CVEs) are one of the basic forms of Multiverseal travel.
Present in the majority of Universes and Dimensions they require the least amount of technology to open existing ones, but the highest amount of technology to open new ones. No protection or air breathing equipment is needed when traveling down a CVE. The Vacuum in the name comes from the need of a Charged Vacuum when opening new CVEs.
There are two types of CVE;
Passive
Passive CVEs can only Be detected with detection devices that are meant for detecting Passive CEVs and have to be opened manually through technology. When opened passive CVEs can be identified by their blue colour.
Active
Active CVEs can be detected by conventional means e.g. sonar, radar etc.
They open themselves randomly but can also be opened through technology. When opened Active CVEs can be identified by their red colour
Dimension Jumping
Also know as Universe hopping, this is a CVEless form of traveling the Multiverse that requires slightly less technology then forming new CVEs but is more dangerous than CVE traveling if Not done Properly. Prolonged use of UH drives that work on the violently-rip-a-hole principal can lead to...
Anomalies
Abuse to the laws of Multiversal physics or prolonged useage of particularly violent UH drives can cause damage to the fabric of the Multiverse, the most common types of anomaly are;
Crack Anomalies
Crack Anomalies come in many varieties, from ones that slowly merge Universes; identified by a the other side of the Anomaly moving so slowly towards the crack that, without several centuries of constant monitoring, no-one will notice, to those that lead to Total Non-Existence Horizons, identified by A pure near blinding whiteness on the other side of the crack that will slowly eat away at the Universe its on unless its resealed (The damage done by these first two cannot be rectified) to ones that simply lead to another Universe with no adverse effects.
Shard Storm Anomalies
These Anomalies look sort of like A storm of Glass Shards.
These Anomalies are harmless in themselves, merely a little Unpredictable. However its what's on the other side and can come through them that is the real danger, savage creatures, hostile aliens, deadly diseases, the assembled hoards of some terrifying nation have all passed through Shard Storm Anomalies, mainly due to the fact that these anomalies can and do, in fact, lead anywhere; deep space, black holes, the death dimensions, a relatively safe place. These Anomalies are best investigated sooner rather than Later when they open as who knows what lays on the other side of them, usually electronic probes are sent first, just in case the other side isn't "life friendly"
The Floor Kippers and The Multiverse
The Multiverse was proved to exist to modern society on the 23rd of November 1980 when an Active CVE suddenly opened in Hapston Park. Every major religion declared that this was a sign of the end of the world.
Whilst the world panicked a small group of scientists from IAN studied the CVE and after Forty-eight hours declared that the CVE was not a sign of the end of the world and in fact would actually help the world.
Two weeks later an expedition was sent through the CVE, which was still open, to see where it went the CVE led to a ten mile long asteroid in the space between Universes.
This discovery of the Multiverse lead to a boom in CVE research and in 1985 at the the Hapston Park CVE Research center the then closed Active CVE was opened. This paved the way for CVE detectors, CVE openers and the ability to make new CVEs.
The asteroid, named the Smithfield-Clark Asteroid after the first two expedition members through the CVE and onto the asteroid, became the home of the Multiversal Television Group, a lightly staffed broadcasting station that acts as a carrier receiver for Television and Radio programs from the rest of the Multiverse.

The Bearing Mountains
The cradle of the this great nation.
The mountains are inaccessible to all but the most experienced climbers and pilots. These beautiful mountains are the most deadly in the region having claimed the lives of two hundred people over the last four hundred years. The original Kipperites were highly skilled climbers and were brought up to know the ways of the mountains.
Any construction projects that go through that way either divert to safer places or go under them, the longest tunnel is the one that the Bearing Canal uses, which measures at over 300,354 ft.
The government advises all visitors and citizens regularly not to attempt to climb the mountains. They are avalanche prone in the winter and rapid prone during the thaw. Despite the warnings many people try to climb these mountains, these are mostly artifact hunters in search of perfectly preserved artifacts from the days of mountain dwelling and also from the numerous air crashes on and around the peaks.
The Bearing Mountains is home to the nation's population of Dragons who live in a Weyr by Fenric Falls in a government protected area.
The Coast of the East
The beautiful line of land that makes up the east coast stretches from Sullivan Point down to the treacherous waters that surround Chronicle Rocks.
This beautiful coastline has many attractions, at the north end of the country the cliffs of Sullivan Point is a fantastic place for bird-spotters with as many as twelve thousand colonies at a time.
Further south wildlife fans can watch some of the native wildlife, including the recently resurrected Feather-Bellied Dragon at the estuary at Bel-Mouth.
Further south still is the world famous Klepton beach, this stretch of golden sand is visited by 14 million people a year, thankfully the "Take home your rubbish" campaign has been mostly successful, there are three towns that back on to the beach which are, Sandsend, Salton and Fortona.
Further south is the port town of Tennantsea, the main export center for the country and the home port of Blue Star Liners' fleet.
As well as business reasons there are other reasons to visit Tennantsea, such as the Mega house of Pancakes or the National Maritime Museum or even the Super Fun Fair at Pleasington's entertainment plaza.
Furthest south is the dangerous Chronicle Rocks. Guarded by one lighthouse at Denber Point and a lightship just off Fang Rock, this area of water has claimed hundreds of ships over the years, from the Schooner HMS Fortuitus, to the SS Adams. These waters are, for some reason, permanently draped in fog making the area more difficult to navigate without GPS.
The River Bel
From a glacier in the Bearing Mountains down to the estuary at Bel-Mouth, the river Bel is an integral part of The United Kingdom of The Floor Kippers.
It is part of the lives of hundreds of creatures, from the Dragons that drink the cool waters of the lower mountains to the Yellow-Bellied Gut-Wrangler that lives in the murky waters of the estuary. The whole river is protected by clause 23C of the "Water Standards Act" and the government will take to court anyone who breaks that act.
There are two notable natural features on the river Bel.
Fenric Falls
Fenric Falls is the point where the glacier in the Bearing mountains is completely melted, the ice cold water then flows through a series of rapids and then drops 3000 ft in a wall of extremely cold water. This area is hard to get to but it is worth it to see the falls in the light of the Sunset and watch the Dragons in one of their natural habitats.
Clearwater Lake
The second largest lake in The United Kingdom of the Floor Kippers, Clearwater Lake is protected by a series of laws that ban any kind of hunting that lives in the 200 acres of land that surrounds the lake.
Clearwater lake was once involved in a controversial debate over the mining rights over a large amount of Gold ore that was discovered beneath the lake-bed which resulted in the government banning any form of mining activities coming within two miles of the Gold seams.
The lake is home to many forms of wildlife. So far scientists have found 72 different species of birds, 344 different varieties of aquatic creatures and 26 different types of Mammal in the lake alone.
The Earth Defense Force
The Earth Defense Force was founded by IAN Directive 20 on the 17th August 1950 after the members of the IAN theorized that if a multitude of sapient species existed on Earth then there was a large chance that there would be life of similar or greater intelligence else where in the Universe, The Multiverse was not know to exist at that point in time. They then theorized that some of this life was bound to be hostile and that the Earth would need a sort of unified taskforce that gained intelligence on extraterrestrial life and planned defenses. They called this new unified intelligence taskforce, The Earth Defense Force.
Each region was allotted a Representative in this military group. There are EDF headquarters in The Glorious and United Kingdom of The Floor Kippers, the European Conglomerate, the Trans-Siberian Alliance, Imperial Africa, the South Asian Republic, United Korea, China, Japan, the Australasian Realms, the Empire of Hawaii and the Disputed territories of Incendiox Calx, each numbered with call signs Trap One to Trap Twelve. In 1963 The newly formed Sea Devil nation of the Dagon Kingdom was allotted the Call sign Trap Thirteen until the TCAA withdrew from both the EDF and IAN in 1999. At that time the Dagon Kingdom received the TCAA HQ's call sign of Trap Eleven.
Baptism of Fire
Just over one year after its founding the EDF received it's baptism of fire during the Cyberman invasion of Japan on the 19th December 1951. A series of mysterious disappearances were reported to the Tokyo police, up till then mostly beggars, tramps and the homeless were vanishing but the police's attention was grabbed when Doctor Yamoto Mitshuhirato an expert in electronics was taken from his home.
The EDF didn't get involved until, a UFO was spotted over Mount Fuji, they were in the middle of investigating when someone referred to in official records as "Code 9" arrived. Code 9 discovered that the disappearances were connected to the UFO and an unusual signal was emanating from the Tokyo Tower. Code 9 found that the signal was calling down an invasion fleet to totally convert Japan into a CyberBase.
While EDF forces battled in the streets, Code 9 fought with the CyberController on top of the tower with the help of a Brigadier whose name is restricted for security purposes. After defeating the CyberController, Code 9 used the signal to send the invasion fleet crashing into the Moon, by "Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow". Any leftover Cybermen were mopped up by the EDF.
A Near Miss
In 1961 the EDF came up against another challenge when two ancient and advanced races of reptiles know as The Silurians the Sea Devils resurfaced after millions of years of frozen hibernation which they had gone into to avoid what they thought was the end of the world by asteroid strike, It actually turned out to be the Moon coming into orbit around Earth. When they resurfaced they were a little bit miffed about the ascent of Mammalkind but were perfectly content to live alongside them.
Their slight distaste for mammals was blown out of proportion by the leader of the Disputed territories of Incendiox Calx and several members of that nation attacked the Silurians and Sea Devils without provocation. The Silurians and Sea Devils retaliated and World War Three nearly kicked off until Sir Philip Briggs, the then Prime Minister of the GUK-FK and several EDF negotiators manage to sort it out and broker a peace. After this the Silurians remained in the caves they dug out under the surface of the Earth and the Sea Devils formed their own kingdom on the sea bed of the Atlantic, this became the Dagon Kingdom.
The Front Expands
In 1980 with the discovery of the Multiverse the Leadership of the EDF realized that they needed to have a larger amount of mobile troops and Vehicles to properly protect the entire planet from Multiversal attacks from hostile creatures as well as attacks from the hostile creatures from this universe.
So plans were drawn up for a Space Defense Station and flying aircraft carriers to be modified and Built when technology was advanced enough to make them work. Plans were also drawn up for an International Moonbase.
A Modern Defense Force For A Modern World
In 2000 it was decided that technology had advanced far enough to construct the flying aircraft carriers. The result was the King Arthur class aircraft carriers, the result was four flying aircraft carriers named Excalibur, Lancelot, Guinevere and Merlin. in 2031 these were Phased and replaced by the Mark II King Arthur class aircraft carriers Gryphox, Androzani, Lounetack and Belouthin.
In 2029, construction Began on International Moonbase One, starting on the Bio-dome.
The Moonbase was based on the abandoned NASA Mars Base design. The Bio-Dome was finished recently. This paves the way for the construction of Habitation Dome one and the Defense sector. Building materials are taken to the sight by a fleet of Starbugs.
