The TSR-14 Teratorn serves the Inutoland Air Force as the main low-level penetration bomber. Bearing a surface similarity to the US B-1 Lancer, the TSR-14 lacks the swing wings of the B-1 and is a slightly smaller plane, but is slightly faster than the B-1 and has a much stealthier design.
The TSR-14 was developed by Tulani-Soro-Ramandu Industries as a replacement for the ageing TSR-9 Mastodon, but the specifications were changed partway through its development to emphasise low-level penetration bombing rather than high-level saturation bombing. The TSR design, though, was already capable enough to meet the new specifications, and was chosen over the rival Towan Aircraft design because of its greater flexibility of role. (Towan Aircraft has since merged with Waris Aerospace).
The TSR-14's engines are internal to the wings. This feature, inherited from the TSR-9's design, was not specifically incorporated as a stealth measure, though it has that effect. The butterfly tail, however, was incorporated for greater stealth; early production models of the Teratorn had a single vertical tail. The butterfly tail was incorporated on all TSR-14s beginning in 1998.
Current TSR-14s also utilise a proprietary radar-absorbent coating to further reduce RCS; taken together, these measures reduce the plane's radar return to that of a microlight-sized aircraft. This is largely nullified, however, by carrying munitions on the external hardpoints, so Inutolander standard operating procedure calls for these hardpoints to remain empty.
