The Federation of Baltic States of Somewhereistonia (often shortened to Somewhereistonia or the Baltic Federation) is a relatively new nation that finds itself in Southern Rushmore. It shares borders with the nation of Kyrinskaia, from which Somewhereistonia gained it's independance, Malak Free State to the East, Continental Rushmore via Oakow state in the North, and Toyur to the South. Somewhereistonia is an economically powerful nation, notable for its unlimited-speed roads and other policies allowing individuals to make up their own minds on a wide variety of issues in direct contrast to the nation that it broke away from. Its hard-working, intelligent population of around 311 million enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region.
The government of Somewhereistonia is very small, operating no more than a night watchman state; however, groups of community-minded, pro-business individuals tend to make local and state governments to organise services such as Education, Healthcare, and in rare cases, Social Equality. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Banking and Financial sectors and other service industries.

Since then, another successful war with Kyrinskaia led to the introduction of three new states to the Federation as well as the growth of Kabano state, incorporating what had been the Kyrinskaian state of Et Kabs. The war also led to the liberation of the states that would become Malak Free State.

Somewhereistonia is a very democratic nation with a somewhat confusing political system. The confusion is mainly due to several compromises that were made in the creation of the constitution because of the differences between the separate states, mostly caused by the wars between each of the states.
Voting is a guaranteed right for all citizens not currently serving in prison who are aged 16 or above. If non-citizens vote (as in presidential first round elections) they need to be aged 16 or above and are counted as ad hoc citizens for the election purposes.
