The Otter Light Tank is a is an air-transportable light tank that is used by the Landmacht and the Knootian Marine Corps of Knootoss. It was developed to meet the requirement for an air-transportable lightly armoured vehicle for use by airborne troops and marines. It is able to fight infantry as well as enemy tanks or aircraft. The Otter can easily be flown in by transport helicopters, or transport planes.

Variants

Like the Schaats armoured fighting vehicle, the Otter is a highly modular design. Variants in Service

Otter Mark II-VK
Reconnaissance / Fire Control Vehicle
Otter Mark IV-LVS
Light Air Defence / Air Defence Reconnaissance System, fitted with an air defence missile launcher.
Otter Mark IV-GMS

Otter Mark V-AT

Otter Mark V-GV

The Otter Mark VII series aims to replace many the above-mentioned variants with autonomously operating or remotely operated alternatives. Production of tanks in the mark VII series has been authorised in the latter years of the Daatman Administration, and it's numbers are limited. The Mark VII-GMS, Mark VII-AT and Mark VII LVS saw action during the Iesus Christi Civil War, particularly during the Battle of Herswood Forest.

Protection

The tank has a digital fire control system, and the crew is protected against Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) threats with an NBC overpressurization system. For increased protection in urban combat, it is equipped with an active protection system.
