Orean is the capital and most heavily populated city in Liventia, having been made the capital in a 2147 referendum. It has a population of 50 million, the largest group of which live within downtown Orean. The city is also host to the headquarters of the Liventia Meteorological Service and the Heartland's hurricane warning centre.
Orean has a long tradition of sport. There are huge sporting arenas in the city, mainly Grovers Park, the homeground of Orean United of the Liventia Football League; the Orean Desert Circuit, which has previously been used for racing and testing by Liventia's WGPC teams; and Shocker Stadium, host to many a baseball game for the Liventian national team when they compete in the World Baseball Classic.
