Overview
New Hayesalia is a constitutional monarchy and a federation of different island states organised as provinces of an overaching nation. Reformed on the 21st of July, 2009, as an entire nation, already intermingled cultures were amalgamated into one nation, which later amalgamated with the Kingdom of Montmaray. New Hayesalians are constantly regarded as friendly people, and New Hayesalian is regarded a tourist paradise with many unique locations and lifestyles.
New Hayesalia is a country of stunning and diverse natural beauty which includes: jagged mountains, steep fiords, pristine lakes, raging rivers, scenic beaches, and semi-arid deserts. The islands are one of Earth's richest flora zones and is inhabited by plentiful amounts of fauna, including many domesticated animals such as the Blue Heeler, which is a national symbol.
History
EARLY HAYESALIA The first humans to travel to New Hayesalia did so for a simple reason; overpopulation. The first noted expedition into New Hayesalia occurred in 1309, however migration may have been occurring since 1001, as noted by carbon dating of early human fossils.
These peoples led a nomadic lifestyle, moving with tribes throughout New Hayesalia or, as it was known by most tribes, Hayesalia. The origin of the naming of the region is unknown. The various islands of Hayesalia were highly interconnected for their time, and before long humanity had spread across Hayesalia, establishing the oldest local human civilizations in Pilotmana.
Early conflicts were regular but mild- documented cases mainly revolved around various farming implements being used in fights between farmers regarding land use. Major conflicts, until 1700, were practically unknown.
1700s By this point, various sub-nations had been formed. They are more well known as the current provinces of New Hayesalia today, and though recognised by the then international community as one nation, Hayestolia was deeply embroiled in an inter-province feud which could break at any moment, the various militias of the Provinces and peoples deciding to break away.
The 1700s were also a noted period in New Hayesalian divisions. The population now hovered around 80,000,000, and growing fast. Unlike most nations of the period, Hayesalia was experiencing problems now faced by the rest of the world today. Despite various provincial struggles, three main factions were operating in the various areas of Hayesalia- republican conservatives on the mainland islands of Hayesalia, socialists in the East, and a small but violent force of monarchists from the north.
The flashpoint was on the 4th of October, 1712, when the province of Quepasa and Retalimora attempted to claim independence from the rest of the nation. The result was sharp and bloody. Chancellor of Hayesalia, Gerald Jontaias, immediately fed the calls of the people by deploying the militias of the various provinces under his command into the two breakaway states.
The violent feelings of the provinces eventually got the better of them: while the Quepasan and Retalimoran militias were almost completely wiped out, attacking militias experienced tenfold their losses due to deliberate acts of friendly fire on troops of other provinces. This led to further shootings, and less than 2% of militiamen ended up returning home. This in turn caused the Civil War of Hayesalia.
CIVIL WAR AND THE HAYESALIAN UNION The war itself raged for a mere eight months, but the population of Hayesalia had been halved to only 39,500,000. By 1713 the current provinces of New Hayesalia were independent and economically devastated. The war was 'called off', no clear victor decided. By comparison, the Province of Montmaray had survived better than their enemies in the war, and soon broke off and formed the Kingdom of Montmaray. It was the new Montmarian Royal Family that stands as the ceremonial head of power today. In the East, the socialists had been put down at heavy cost, but the vast majority of the Mainland and East were republics, run by Chiefs or Chancellors.
In 1800, the population had exceeded previous standards and now stood at nearly 100,000,000.This also saw the introduction of the Hayesalian Union, which sought to make sure that inter-provincial wars would not occur again, and increase the economic, political and cultural impact of Hayesalia. Most nations saw the Hayesalian Union as a single entity, as opposed to the multitude of states it really was. The Kingdom of Montmaray remained a separate nation.
1900s In 1900, the Hayesalian Union had made great strides in ensuring Union-wide peace. While each nation still flew it’s own flag, all of them flew the flag of the Union- the current flag of New Hayesalia. Gradually, the involvement of the Union in the affairs of member states increased. Free trade, union taxes and regulations, bodies, organisations, funds and councils and even a Union Defence Force made the idea of an independent state within the Union practically pointless. It was in 2005 that representatives of the member states discussed the nation of New Hayesalia. Chaired by active and well-liked political figure, the Union representative for Mardio, Daniel Hayes, the Union held a referendum for Amalgamation in 2008.
91% of the Union’s entire population voted in favour.
The Island Republic of New Hayesalia was created officialy on the 21st of July, 2009. Union chairman and elected President Daniel Hayes took the lead as President of New Hayesalia.
POST-AMALGAMATION The years after amalgamation saw great growth. The ring city system designed in the 60’s was as functional as could be, and the population was booming into the billions. The Union Defence Force had transformed easily into the New Hayesalian Military. Tourism money was now greater than ever, although the Quat was severely weakened both due to tourism and foreign factors.
Governance
New Hayesalia is a constitutional monarchy with a federal division of powers. It uses a parliamentary system of government with Queen Olivia I at its apex as the Queen of The Greater Island Kingdom of New Hayesalia. The Queen resides in the province of Montmaray, which is the source of the New Hayesalian monarchy as part of a provision to expand the Kingdom. Supereme executive authority is vested by the constitution of New Hayesalia in the sovereign, but the power to exercise it is conferred by the constitution specifically to the Speaker of the Senate.
The federal government is separated into three branches: -The legislature: Parliament, comprising the Queen (represented by the Speaker of the Senate), the Senate, and the House of Representatives; -The executive: the Federal Council, the Prime Minister and Ministers of State; -The judiciary: the Supreme Court of New Hayesalia and other courts, whose judges are appointed by the Senate on advice of the Federal Council.
New Hayesalians have an active role to play in New Hayesalian politics. Voting in referendums and elections is extended to all New Hayesalian citizens over the suffrage age of 18, male or female. The current Prime Minister is PM Daniel Hayes, the Deputy is DPM Anthony Scapalotti. The full list of the Cabinet and various political figures can be found on their parties websites. The current monarch is HRH Queen Olivia Granville I. The main political parties are:

There are 1000 seats allocated to the House of Representatives (995 Electoral Zones, five special regions), and 210 to the Senate (8 per Province, plus 10 from New Hayesalian external territories or administrative zones)

Foreign Relations
New Hayesalia has ahd notoriously specialised foreign relations, heavily interested in the happenings of allied nations and those it considers hostile. Multiple agreements with the nations of Paddy O Fernature, Zellatia and United NW Canada which largely invites citizens of those nations to have the rights of most New Hayesalians. New Hayesalia also maintains relations with The Quendi, Calmerica, the Earth Sphere Coalition, Yohannes-Anagonia, Hippostania, Allanea and Erathore.

Cuisine
New Hayesalian cuisine is noted for it's many creative nuances, and a heavy use of tropical fruits such as mangoes, pineapples, coconuts, kiwifruits, bananas and various melons. Seafood, light pastries and meats (mainly beef) are often seen in New Hayesalian cooking.
It is noted that New Hayesalian chefs believe that "Two things put together can give you more than four end resukts" so chefs are often highly competitive in creative lucrative and indulging dishes.
The New Hayesalian national dish is the "Trujilo" which is a fruit salad made from a vairety of tropical ingredients served in a pineapple, often coated in sweet or savoury syrups.
