The Publicly Traded Democracy of McCountry is a corporate conglomerate that rules over a vast territory.
Government
All public services are provided by various private corporations and government is run on a "one share one vote" basis. Major stock holders enjoy all of the rights and privileges due to them while the 'human resources' who own little or no McCountry stock get what's coming to them. The three major corporate partners of McCountry Inc are Enforcer Inc, the Fjord Motor Company and the Coked-up Cola Company.
Law and Order
Curfews in The Publicly Traded Democracy of McCountry are set locally in Shareholder Enclaves and these are generally enforced on the basis of age and shareholder status. The high crime 'free-fire zones' where many of McCountry's human resources reside are under perpetual martial law and a strict curfew is enforced by Enforcer Corporation personnel from dusk until dawn.
Service Fees
There are no taxes as such in McCountry, but such a great part of the economy is now controlled by McCountry Inc that the service fees charged by the conglomerate amount to the equivalent of a 100% income tax rate for most shareholders and something in the neighborhood of 300% for the average human resource, a class which lives in a state which several prominent international economists have described as 'perpetual hereditary debt slavery.'
