The Free Land of East Longfort (Longfortian: Landen Libërte Longfort Orientalen or Landen Libërte Ëst Longfort) is a nation with about 10 million inhabitants.

Unlike West Longfort, East Longfort is a democracy, with respect by human rights and a developed nation.

East Longfort resulted from a war against the oppressive western nation, which didn't agree with the independence of the then-new country. The country proclaimed independence in 1955, 11th July. All the nations in Swilantis, except Sarleneska and (West) Longfort, have recognised the independence of the country, with Luziyca withdrawing recognition on Jan. 14th, 2012. The independence is also recognised by democratic countries like the Iglesian Archipelago and Cortazur.

History

East Longfort resulted from a civil war against the West, with the objective to create a new, free and economically powerful country. The Longfortian Civil War started in 1949, but it ended in 1957, after a cease-fire between the West and the East. The first countries to recognise the independence were the Iglesian Archipelago, Cortazur and Seven Castles, and all of them recognised it in the day of the declaration of independence. The independence was declared on 11th July, 1955.

Quickly after the declaration of independence, the Iglesian Archipelago and Seven Castles ceased diplomatic relationships with the West to establish the same with the East. Cortazur ceased them some years later, in 1963.

(rest TBA)

In 2012, after hearing of West Longfort suppressing anti-Glondbom protests, Luziyca announced its support and offered to assist Longfort in "liberating" the East. After they accepted, the Luziycan Air Force headed to Varenöme, and bombed it. The government, with little time to react, fell very quickly, and within two days, Longfort secured control over the East.

Culture

Many newspapers also serve the country, notably Diäris der Paÿs.
