Lobonese is the official language of Laiatan, and is spoken by more than 500 million people worldwide. Its written standard is the Cyrillic alphabet. The language is spoken by 98% of Laiatan's population, and by minority groups spread across The East Pacific.
The language was the most commonly spoken during the time Laiatan was split into multiple kingdoms. This greatly increased the ease of uniting the kingdoms into one state. The language has changed fairly little since it was first spoken by tribes living in Laiatan and appeared in literature approximately three thousand years ago.
