Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kitsuniva

The Kuverinsent Regiment, also called the Confederate Kuverinsent Sentinels, is a unique military regiment that is part of the Confederate Protection Guards. Members of the Kuverinsent Regiment are always military personnel. The Kuverinsent Regiment ensures the security of the Kuverinsent and its treasures, such as the Crown Jewels of Vulshain, and guards the highest state officials, as well as maintains a guard of honor at the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Confederate Kuverinsent Sentinels also serve as honor guards for visiting heads of state during state visits. The regiment is housed in the historic Kuverinsent Arsenal and Armory.

History

The Kuverinsent Regiment was formed during the Five-Year War between Vulshain and Southern Yugoslavia by order of King Maksimilian Aleixo as an elite military unit. All members of the Kuverinsent Regiment were born in Kitsuniva, capital of Vulshain. The Kuverinsent Regiment served as the vanguard of the Vulshainian Confederate Royal Forces in the war against Southern Yugoslavia. However, the regiment also suffered some of the highest casualites of the war.

After Vulshain's defeat in the Five-Year War, the Kuverinsent Regiment was reorganized as a city honor guard, tasked with maintaining security of the Kuverinsent, home of the Confederate Palace, as well as providing protection to the monarch.

During Merrill Rivers' coup against the Vulshainian Monarchy, the entire Kuverinsent Regiment provided a vital distraction, buying Queen Anatansya Olekalexein time to flee to Southern Yugoslavia. Because of this, the Kuverinsent Regiment was targeted by the new Democratic Republic of Vulshain's Republican Security Guards. However, the Kuverinsent Regiment formed a underground resistance militia, carrying out hit and run attacks on Republican Regime forces and supply lines around the city.

A few members also traveled to Southern Yugoslavia in order to protect Queen Anatansya Olekalexein. Only the Kuverinsent Regiment knew that Vikki Rainard was the daughter of Queen Olekalexein. They swore an oath of secrecy in order to ensure the protection of the Royal Bloodline of Jorkett Karabe VI. However, years passed and the secret was so wellguarded, that no one knew of the Rainard Children's lineage.

Many within the Kuverinsent Regiment feel that they have failed the Crown for not protecting the parents of the Rainard Children, Kirin Rainard and Vikki Olekalexein Rainard from being beatened and left to die at the hands of insurgents during the Vulshainian Civil War.

In 2010, members of the Kuverinsent Regiment atoned for their regiment's failure by tackling and apprehending an assassin who attempted to assassinate King Samuil Rainard as he was about to leave on his tour of the East Pacific. The Kuverinsent Regiment also assisted in rushing wounded to nearby hospitals during the 2010 Rygardi Embassy Shootings.
