Haneo (kr: 한어 | zh: 韓語) is the official language of the Han Empire. It is an artificial construction of two RL languages, Chinese and Korean. In Chinese and Korean, it literally translates as "Han (Korean) language". Haneo is officially regulated by the Imperial Academy of Language and Grammar (); the Imperial Academy also governs the use of other foreign languages in the Han Empire, primarily to determine which languages will have official recognition. The two most popular languages are English - used in diplomacy with foreign countries - and Spanish - as a dialect of those living on Jonamdo.
Officials are aware of the diversity of the use of the Han language in other countries, primarily as part of an unexplainable diaspora of Han citizens from alternative realities that have been merged into the Han reality. In an effort to establish the Han Empire as the primal origin of all culturally Han entities, the Imperial Academy of Language and Grammar has begun to classify every foreign dialect of the Haneo, depending primarily upon the usage of Hanja or Jamo.
