The Governors of the Billopeshian provinces were the top executive government officials in each of the 4 provinces of Billopesha from 1823 to 2005. The powers of a governor were largely nominal with the main role of selecting ministers for the Provincial Cabinet and presiding over its meetings. The governor did, though, hold significant veto powers.
Each governor was appointed from the Silvereye by the Chancellor and approved by the Provincial Assembly. Governors served four-year terms but the term could be shortened by death, resignation or dismissal. Each could be removed by an impeachment made by the Chancellor and approved by the Silvereye. A notable exception was the Governor of Billopec-Origo which was a post always held by the Duke of Billopec and therefore the Chancellor when the duke held that position.
During the Billopeshian Revolution in 2005, the position was made defunct and the role and powers of the governors were gven to the Provincial Prime Ministers and the Chancellor.
