Surprisingly, for its conservative style of business and economy, the Han economy is highly focused around sports-related events, particularly football. Although most domestic trade involves domestic production, the football-related industries generate a wealth of business, mostly in the form of advertisements and promotions. Samseong has especially profited from such business adventures. With what began as a minor act of philanthropy, Samseong has progressively worked its way to the top tier of international organizations simply by sponsoring football-related events, including the World Cup, the IUCC, formerly the Series B Champions' Cup of the International Club Cups, and some prominent international clubs, such as Albrecht FC. This activity has prompted other Han companies to spread their notoriety through sponsoring football-related events. Hyeondae currently sponsors the Taeshani Hyeondae Soccer League On occasion, these ventures do generate profits for the companies, but due to local contracts, all of these profits are recalculated into the sponsored entities.
