The Confederate Protection Guard is an independant military-civilian unit separate from the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Internal and External Intelligence and Security (DIEIS).
The CPG is tasked with the responsibility of protecting domestic and foreign VIPs in Vulshainian soil and abroad. Such VIPs include the the Monarch of Vulshain, the Royal Confederate Premier, the Chief Prime Minister, Ministers of the Crown, foreign embassadors, and foreign heads of state and government.
The CPG also operates the secure high-level communications system and the secure subway system used by the government in case of emergencies called Metro Rail-Zero. The CPG is also charged with the protection of royal properties, such as the Royal Confederate Palace, private residences of current and former Monarchs, the homes of government officials, and other places of importance. The CPGs are also responsible for investigating crimes of counterfeiting and acts of government corruption within the Royal Congress.
In addition, the CPG also maintains a 14 horse mounted police unit for use by guards of honor at state ceremonies. In addition to their security duties, the Confederate Protection Guard is also responsible for fire-fighting within the grounds of the Palace, and maintains fire engines and trained staff of this purpose.

The CPG has around 20,000 - 30,000 uniformed personnel plus several thousands of plainclothes personnel, all tasked with the duty of ensuring the safety of national and foreign VIPs. Agents can be either vulpine, lobo, or human, and maybe either male or female.
A special and unique military CPG unit called the Kuverinsent Regiment that ensures the security of the Kuverinsent and its treasures and guards the highest state officials, as well as maintains a guard of honor at the eternal flame at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The regiment is housed in the historic Kuverinsent Arsenal and Armory.
Uniforms
While CPGs wear a special type of uniform, the majority of the agents wear attire that is appropriate for the surroundings. Attire can be a conservative suit, but it can also range from a tuxedo to blue jeans. They often wear sunglasses and a communication earpiece. CPG agents wearing suits are known to have the CPG insignia worn on their suit lapel and wearing blue neckties and pocket handkerchiefs on their suits.
Standard Weapons, Equipment, and Training
CPGs are armed with MP-443 Grach semi-automatic pistols, Uzis, Stechkin APS machine pistols, expandable batons, truncheons, and tasers. CPGs are trained in various forms of hand-to-hand combat for situations where the use of a firearm would worsen the situation.
Recently, King Samuil Rainard has required that the CPGs be trained in various martial arts styles, not just those practiced in Vulshain. Current styles used by CPGs include Aikido, Judo, Ninjutsu, Southern Praying Mantis, Góuquán (Dog Kung Fu), Chángquán, and Xingyiquan.
