The Democratic People's Republic of Commustan has a government based on the ideals of democracy and equality.
Government
The government is composed of a parliment, and an executive branch with a cabinet. All laws passed by the parliment must be approved by the people.
The Parliment is made up of two houses. In the Senate, three presentatives are chosen from each province. In the National Council, representation is based on population.
The President is elected by popular vote. He chooses cabinet members which must be approved by popular vote.
Economy
Commustan has a planned Economy. The people decide through surveys what goods they want produced or imported. They also get to vote on changes to goods or service. Everyone is given what they need (food, clothing, etc.) and they recieve credit points for recreation and luxeries. all workers are given equal luxery to start with, but credit can be detracted for lack of effort on job, or crimes. The currency "Dime" is used by foreign tourists.
History
Around the 200's A.D, a large empire declined. Christianity began to spread during the fall of the Empire. Feudalism became common in city-states in the 400's.
The Kingdom of Vasingtonia was established in 532. It started as a military alliance under one General, who gave command to his king, Alexander I, when he died. He declared the whole alliance his kingdom, and used his military to carry out that rule. Vasingtonia gradually expanded and soon controlled most of what is now Commustan.
In the 17th century revolutionaries brought about several reforms.
