History
[ Brief history of the cup ... ]
Setup
The tournament is a straight knockout cup, in which teams are seeded based on their league finish. The top two seeds are drawn at opposite ends of the bracket, and every round - except the final - is a single tie at the home ground of the higher seeded team. The final is played at a neutral venue.
Should any tie end in a draw, extra time is played, followed by penalty kicks if a winner still cannot be determined.
