Arkiasis Armed Forces
The Arkiasis Armed Forces currently employes 161,000 active, professional, volunteer personnel along with 69,000 reserve personnel. The Armed Forces consist of the Ground Command whom employ 105,000 personnel, the Air Command with 16,000 personnel, and the Naval Command with 49,000 active personnel.
Two other areas of the Armed Command are the Special Forces Command and the Fighter command. The Special Forces command contain Arkiasis' two special forces groups, Shadow Company and Counter-terrorist organization Tactical Team 3. The Fighter Command contains Arkiasis' two combat fighter jet squadrons, Eagle Force and the Shadow Bolts.
Currently the nation of Arkiasis enforces a War Referendum policy which requires all declared wars to be approved by national referendum except in cases where Arkiasis is attacked first as declared in section 2.1 of the Arkiasis Constitution. The law was enacted in July of 1945 and since then Arkiasis has fought in one over seas war in Lilliputia after the 1965 Leighton car bombings which was committed by the terrorist group called the "Lilliputian Freedom Fighters" whom of which controlled Lilliputia at the time since the 1959 Lilliputian Revolution. The invasion was approved with a 65% voter support for it. The war continued for 3 years until the capture of LFF leader Ahmed Sholimi and the establishment of a democratic government in Lilliputia. The official death count of the war is of great controversy and debate as the final death count was confirmed at 666 causalities. Since the Lilliputian War Arkiasis has decreased their military numbers from 200,000 active soldiers in 1965 to the current levels of 161,000. The Progressive Party campaigns to expand the military to at least 300,000 active and 100,000 reserve soldiers and the Independence Party campaigns to officially declare neutrality and introduce a defense only military policy. The Conservative Party campaigns to install conscription. The military budget currently consists of 1% of the nations GDP, with a budget of 42 billion USD in 2015.
