History
The First Seasons
The league was founded with six teams in 2028. Lemanskigrad United, Royal Egaigus, Illinopolis FC, Arskanskigrad United, Albundia City United, and Chicago Nuevo SC were the first six teams, all of which existed for multiple years and most of which had participated in past AMFL editions.
The 2028 season was held, and Arskanskigrad United became the first champions, sending off expected winners Royal Egaigus and Lemanskigrad United off with ease. The 2028-2029 offseason saw collegiate team Hollandstile FC join the league, making it a seven team league. The 2029 season was then held, and Lemanskigrad United came back from a tough season to win the league, narrowly beating out Chicago Nuevo SC by a single point. Defending Champions Arskanskigrad United fell all the way down to sixth place, beating only newcomers Hollandstile FC.
The 2030's
2030 saw a return to the old domination by Lemanskigrad United, as they won the league by a full six points over second placed Illinopolis FC, with Royal Egaigus finishing fifth despite the $550,000 acquisition of Q Inieta over the off-season. The top six teams were all from the original six teams. 2031 saw Lemanskigrad repeat that performance, winning the league once again beating out Albundia City United by a narrow two points. 2032 saw a new champion in Riesberg City who won the league on tie-breakers after surprise package Catal FC tied them on points at the last match-day. Lemanskigrad finished third place, only a point behind Catal FC and Riesberg City.
2033 saw Riesberg almost repeat as champions, only to be stopped by Chicago Nuevo SC who won the league by four points. Illinopolis FC managed to take third place, finishing one point behind Riesberg. Catal FC, the runner-ups from 2032, finished last place out of 18 teams, managing to only get 24 points from 34 games. 2034 saw Harvey United and Laciudad FC join the AMFL to make it a 20 team league (the two teams finished last in the league). This turned out to be an extremely one-sided year, as Riesberg City won the championship by finishing 10 points ahead of Illinopolis FC.
The 2035 season has just concluded with Illinopolis FC winning the league for the very first time. Riesberg City finished two points behind them to take second place, and Royal Egaigus were only four points off of first, proving that they still have some competitiveness. Lemanskigrad United faltered to a 10th place finish, and FC Hollandstile slipped into the top four as well.
